Food, friends and frontal lobes

Last night we had supper with Bart and Claudia and their kids. My nephew Caleb came with us (after all, what's one more?!) Supper was delicious as always. Bart's meals simply cannot be topped.

And the after dinner conversation was exciting. Those two are cooking up more than great food right now. I'll write more about this later.

Our kids were all out on the trampoline together and they had picked about 20 wormy apples from a backyard tree which were all now bouncing right along with the bodies. Ben came in crying because Adam had thrown an apple at him. I knew I hadn't heard the whole story so I went out to investigate and Adam started with, "Well, he threw one at me first!"

"Come on, Adam. Use your frontal lobe!" I said as I pointed to my forehead.

Tony yelled, "Hey, what's that?"

"What's what, Tony?"

"What you told Adam to use!" Tony replied as he continued to bounce on the trampoline.

"I told Adam to use his frontal lobe. It's the part of your brain that keeps you out of trouble."

"Nuh-uh. None of us have one of those." Tony stated matter-of-factly. You gotta love oppositional defiant disorder.

I don't know about oppositional and defiant. There are days I don't think I have one of those either ~
